MyDirectives

MyDirectives is an end-of-life wishes service to help people define the care they’d like to receive if terminally ill or injured. During its inception, I was brought on to help explain what a digital living will was and how to navigate the site through videos. The website was mostly complete, and they were developing the app for mobile devices. I was asked to create *8* videos stepping the users through the process starting with signing up to filling out their digital living will.

The budget didn’t include any video production, so I was asked to create the videos with photos, screen captures, and voice over. My initial draft for the first video used my voice, but I convinced them to procure a professional voice actor. I have done voice over in the past, but I did not have good recording equipment at the time. I felt it best to have high quality audio. I helped provide direction on the voiceover to ensure the tone was consistent with the content.
